As it is Sunday we decide to visit a museum dedicated to local folklore.
The Gamle Kvernes Bygdemuseum (old folklore museum) is very much like our own “living” museums, they moved significant dwellings to the site and re-built them to working order. (In the foreground you can see a working forge.)
Situated opposite the museum these wooden churches are a good example of local architecture.
My host Geir Morten Karlsen, proprietor of GlassForum studios, preparing for our cross-country skiing!!
Karl preparing for “snow angels”, or more exactly, hiding from Geir so I don’t have to go cross-country skiing!!
I used to think Scotland was nice in the winter months but this land is truely welcoming, beautiful, inspiring and more natural than anything I have ever experienced.
