Karl Harron Returns to teach two amazing workshops:
“THE PERFECT VESSEL” with Karl Harron
Form: “…by which shape is determined, as distinguished from the material of which it is composed, giving it individuality and a distinctive character”. Karl Harron is a master of creating the sublime form in kiln formed glass and in this seven day master class he will share a wealth of his knowledge with students. Students will be encouraged to develop a personal vision and aesthetic while learning to negotiate the technical challenges of deep slumping and going from idea to finished form. Students will also explore working with Bullseye reactive glasses, concentrating on the qualities of 0137 and 0313. Students will learn finishing and cold working, and ultimately how to present the vessel form as sculpture. Discussions, power point presentations, and technical talks will encourage and enable students to expand their ideas once outside the classroom.
Tuesday March 20 through Monday March 26, 9:30-5:30 each day.
